- Nestled in the foothills of the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland and and just an hour south of Cairns we are set amid lush tropical rainforests. We are situated just 3 kms. from world-famous www.paronellapark.com.au Our private swimming hole is fed by the pristine waters of the surrounding tropical forests. We are the gateway to the Cassowary Coast which boasts hundreds and activities and attractions.
- We offer a variety of accommodation to suit your budget and any extra meals are available by request. If you'd like a tourism brochure please email us. We enjoy hosting guests, but if it's the big city lights and razzle-dazzle that you would like to have a change from then you will love the tranquil serenity of our environment - may be what you need to recharge your batteries. We lead an alternative life-style and find all guests enjoy staying amid our lush tropical rainforest with all your accommodation needs taken care of. What we don't have is television, but the rest is all here. You'll love it! - we did, so we bought it.
- There are numerous online sites to gather information for planning your journey but we suggest you allow time to freelance as often there are local markets and festivals that may not be advertised online. Nothing is more up-to-date than local knowledge.
- Holidays can be expensive but there are plenty off free activities and attractions to experience and enjoy on the Cassowary Coast. - For your convenience we provide free wifi, internet and land-line and mobile call within Australia. If you don't want to cook we can prearrange all other meals and all dietary requirements are catered for. We can even provide picnic hampers for you to take on your day-trips.
- Australians just love to tell you about all the nasty creatures and creepy-crawlies of our country but let me assure you that warning signs are well-placed where crocodiles inhabit waters both fresh and salt-water. Mosquitoes are a problem in any equatorial environment so we suggest you buy a good quality tropical-strength repellant. We are very fortunate that there are very few mosquitoes on our property because of the running waters. However, we always have repellant at hand just in case.
- Cassowary Coast is appropriately named in honour of the large native bird. Ther is only a small stretch of rainforest that they inhabit but are frequently seen on road-sides. Signs will indicate the Cassowary Crossing areas. In addition there are hundred of species of flora and fauna endemic to this region both on land and in the Pacific Ocean and fresh water-ways. In particular is the utchenises rainbow fish that you can see in abundance in our on-site Utchee Creek - as well as other wonderous creatures as the platypus, fresh-water crayfish and other species.

- Our cedar cabins are fully serviced and our tropical gardens provide ample private spaces inside and out to relax and enjoy. We pride ourselves in ensuring an exciting tropical experience and hospitality. Utchee Creek runs through the property and has a very secluded private, safe swimming hole. We have one room with a King bed and another with a Queen. The cabin is fully furnished so if you wish to cook we have a fully-fitted kitchen or outdoor BBQ.
- We are members of all appropriate local and Queensland tourism associations and have dozens of books and brochures in order for you to choose from the hundreds of activities and attractions and accommodation places you may wish to consider.
Services
B&B accommodation is $120 per couple per night and extra guests $50 pn. Single tariff is $70, extra Short-term accommodation also available. We provide tents and swags if you choose to sleep outdoors. We can arrange any extra meals by arrangement. Smoking is allowed outdoor and common sense prevails. Enjoy your meals and refreshments on our suspended decking overlooking the rainforest and our pristine creek. Privacy assured.
